A MigriX project must be opened before it can be viewed, modified and simulated. A demo projected named VikingX can be included with the installation. On windows systems, the VikingX project is installed to the MigriProject directory in the users home directory. The project can be opened by dragging the VikingX/migri/VikingX.mirp file into the 3D view or by using File/Open Project and navigating to the project file.
File/Open Last Project can be used next time you start MigriX to continue working on the same project while File/Recent Project Files allows for selecting from the most recent projects. The number of directories and project files shown under Recent project can be changed in File/Preferences.
New projects can be created using either a simple Drag & drop approach or by filling a layer table with information. Both these methods are described in the New project section. An overview of the data organisation and shared resources of MigriX model data is also included in this chapter.
