This chapter outlines the process of defining the layers and geometries model within MigriX.
MigriX computes the burial history by using a shale compaction burial history, which considers the present day geometries and depth model. As the burial reconstruction is performed using a backstripping method, the present day geometries will not be affected.
MigriX initially establishes default burial history timesteps for the model, but these can be changed freely by the user.
